Office Caning

Miss Julie Teasdale had only been with publishers Whackitt & Swish for three weeks. There had been stiff competition for the prestigious job of PA to Mr Jonathan Swish, but Julie’s tenacity and innate calibre had won the day – and a handsome salary package.

But trouble was brewing. Julie had made a series of minor error’s culminating in her forgetting to post some vital business correspondence on her way home from work. A couple of days later Julie found herself carpeted in Mr Swish’s private office having to explain herself and convince him that it wouldn’t happen again. But Jonathan Swish was having none of it. As an old Eatonian he knew the value of traditional discipline in such circumstances and offered Julie the stark choice of a caning at the end of the working day (six of the best) or her P45. Julie was a little taken aback at this unconventional approach to discipline in the workplace, but made her mind up almost immediately to take the caning. She had put so much effort into securing her position at Whackit & Swish that she wasn’t going to throw it away lightly. Besides, how bad could it be? Gils got the cane all the time back in the olden days.

“I’ll take the caning, Sir” said Julie with some confidence. “Excellent, Miss Teasdale. I have great respect for those who don’t give up at the first hurdle. Report to me here at 5.45 PM after everyone has gone home. I’m sure you’d like to keep this matter private?” “Indeed, Sir” replied Julie.

It was 5:15 pm and as the appointed hour approached Julie began to have her doubts. She had been made to touch her toes slippered on the seat of her tight blue knickers by the deputy headmistress back in grammar school. But she had never been caned. And what if Mr. Swish ordered her to remove her knickers? Julie had heard that it was not uncommon for recalcitrant girls to be thrashed on their bare bottoms in days gone by, and Mr Swish was such a traditionalist. So it wasn’t just the whacking but the fact that she might have to bend over allowing him to see everything she’d got! But the time was now 5: 40 and she’d better not keep Mr. Swish waiting. It was to late to back out now. Julie got up and headed for stairs up to Mr. Swish’ private office…
